Flötotto is a family-run company in its fourth generation.

For more than 100 years, they have been passionate about producing high-quality furniture, which is still made at their factory in eastern Westphalia, Germany.

Flötotto furniture thus appeals to every generation.

Through the years, Flötotto have been awarded numerous prizes for their durable and innovative products, including the Interior Innovation Award, the Red Dot design award and the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Based on the PAGHOLZ® chair design, Konstantin Grcic has designed the PRO chair for Flötotto

PRO is an open chair that does not dictate a sitting direction. You can also sit sideways on PRO perfectly or even straddle it. The curved backrest becomes a comfortable armrest in this case and does not cut into your arms unpleasantly.

Developed on the basis of scientific studies, PRO promotes active, dynamic sitting. And contributes to significantly improved, healthy sitting in the process.

With the PRO series, Konstantin Grcic has developed a chair for Flötotto that follows state-of-the-art ergonomic design and is a design pioneer at the same time. A chair whose construction not only allows movement in all directions, but actively stimulates it. For healthier sitting.

According to studies on active sitting in schools, sitting still is not the only way to concentrate.

We know today that children in school learn most effectively when they can move freely. We need the opposite of "sitting still" and PRO was developed against this background.

Meet the designer behind the PRO series

Konstantin Grcic was born in Munich in 1965. Following his training as a cabinet maker at Parnham College in England, he studied design at the Royal College of Art in London.

Just a short time later, he started working as a designer in Jasper Morisson’s studio.

In 1991, Grcic established his own office in Munich, Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design, where he creates furniture, objects and lamps for renowned manufacturers such as Authentics, Driade, Flos, Vitra and Magis.

Many of his works have been awarded coveted prizes. In 2001, his multipurpose light ‘Mayday’, which he designed for Flos, won the Compasso d’Oro and was also incorporated into the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
